According to “Forbes” website definition of the “Internet of Things”:

“It is the concept of basically connecting any device with an on and off switch to the Internet (and/or to each other). This includes everything from cellphones, coffee makers, washing machines, headphones, lamps, wearable devices and almost anything else you can think of.”

The world of Internet of Things is one of the most emerging technologies, which is expected to take over our world by surprise. Where every object, device and human being, would be connected to each other.

As for now, there are currently great examples of the internet of things with applications. Check the top 5 of them, according to “Business 2 Community” website: 

Philips-Hue Lighting:


Philips allows you to use LED light, along with intuitive technology. Where you can use the lights, through their mobile application. You can also change the shades of white, from invigorating blue/white to yellow/white, and you can change the colors in the spectrum.

Moreover, Philips-Hue can help in waking you up, protecting your home and keeps you informed about the weather. 

Google Glass/Apple Watch:


These two devices have great properties, as for the “Google Glass” it can be used to interact with the Internet and get all information right through the created device. Also it can take images, browse the internet and search for locations.

And as for the “Apple watch”, it can help you stay fit and set clock alarms. 

Hilton Hotels:


Hilton Hotels own an extraordinary IoT application, called “HHhonors”. Some of its features are, smartphone based check-ins and room key functionality. Where Guests are allowed to check-in, request additional items to be in their rooms before they arrive and have access to areas within the hotel like the gym, pool and parking garage.
